Terms of Service
1. Service description
CareerMetrics is a career and salary data platform that provides UK salary insights, career trajectory visualisations, degree outcome analysis, and AI-powered career tools. We use publicly available data from the Office for National Statistics (ONS) and the Department for Education (DfE).
The service is available in the following tiers:
- Free — access to core salary data, career explorer, and degree outcomes.
- Premium (£4.99/month or £39.99/year) — includes advanced analytics, regional breakdowns, PDF exports, and salary alerts.
- Premium+ (£9.99/month or £79.99/year) — includes everything in Premium plus AI-powered tools (CV Optimiser, Skills Gap Analyser, Negotiation Coach, Interview Prep, Transition Modeller).
- Business plans — Recruiter, Agency, Enterprise, and University tiers for organisations. See our Business page for details.
2. Account registration
To access paid features, you must create an account with a valid email address and password. You are responsible for:
- Providing accurate registration information.
- Maintaining the security of your account credentials.
- All activity that occurs under your account.
- Notifying us immediately if you suspect unauthorised access to your account.
We strongly recommend enabling two-factor authentication (MFA) in your account settings.
3. Subscriptions and payments
Paid subscriptions are processed by Stripe. By subscribing, you agree to the following:
- Subscriptions automatically renew at the end of each billing period (monthly or annual) unless cancelled.
- You can cancel your subscription at any time through your account settings or the Stripe customer portal. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.
- We do not offer refunds for partial billing periods. If you cancel mid-cycle, you retain access until the end of the period you have paid for.
- We reserve the right to change pricing with 30 days' notice. Existing subscribers will be notified by email before any price change takes effect on their next renewal.
- One-time purchases (e.g. Career Reports) are non-refundable once the report has been generated.
4. Business and organisation accounts
Organisation accounts (Recruiter, Agency, Enterprise, University) are subject to additional terms:
- The organisation owner is responsible for managing members, roles, and billing.
- Organisation subscriptions are billed separately from individual subscriptions.
- API access is subject to rate limits and fair use policies based on your plan tier.
- Embeddable widgets and LTI integrations may only be used on domains and platforms operated by the subscribing organisation.
- We reserve the right to suspend organisation accounts that exceed their plan limits or violate these terms.
5. AI tools
AI-powered tools are available to Premium+ subscribers and organisation members. By using these tools, you acknowledge:
- AI-generated content is provided for informational purposes only and should not be treated as professional career, financial, or legal advice.
- AI outputs may contain inaccuracies or errors. You are responsible for reviewing and verifying any AI-generated content before acting on it.
- AI tool usage is subject to rate limits (currently 10 requests per tool per day per user).
- You must not submit sensitive personal data (e.g. national insurance numbers, financial account details) to AI tools.
- We do not permanently store the content of your AI tool submissions. See our Privacy Policy for details.
6. Data accuracy and disclaimer
Salary and career data displayed on CareerMetrics is sourced from ONS ASHE and DfE LEO datasets. While we endeavour to present accurate and up-to-date information:
- Salary figures represent statistical aggregates and are not predictions of individual earnings.
- Career path visualisations are illustrative and should not be treated as financial, career, or employment advice.
- ROI calculations are estimates based on historical data and current loan terms. Actual outcomes will vary.
- Individual salaries vary based on location, employer, experience, qualifications, negotiation, and many other factors.
7. What we are not
