Third-party cookies (payment)

When you proceed to checkout, Stripe may set cookies on its own domain (stripe.com) to process your payment securely and prevent fraud. These cookies are set by Stripe, not by CareerMetrics, and are governed by Stripe's privacy policy.

3. Local storage

In addition to cookies, we use your browser's localStorage to store preferences that remain entirely on your device. Unlike cookies, localStorage data is never automatically sent to our servers.

For clarity, CareerMetrics does not use:

5. How to manage cookies

You can control and delete cookies through your browser settings. Most browsers allow you to:

Block third-party cookies
Block cookies from specific sites
Block all cookies
Delete all cookies when you close your browser

Please note that blocking the session cookie will prevent you from logging in and using any authenticated features.

Opting out of Google Analytics

You can opt out of Google Analytics across all websites by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on. Alternatively, most ad blockers (uBlock Origin, Privacy Badger) will block GA4 automatically.

Clearing localStorage

To clear localStorage: open your browser's Developer Tools (F12), go to the Application (Chrome/Edge) or Storage (Firefox) tab, find Local Storage, select careermetrics.co.uk, and clear the entries.

6. Changes to this policy

If we introduce additional cookies or change how we use them, this page will be updated with an updated revision date. For significant changes (e.g. introducing advertising cookies, which we have no plans to do), we will notify users prominently.
