About this role

Vehicle paint technicians (2020 SOC) apply protective and decorative paint systems to vehicle bodies and components using advanced spray equipment, colour-matching technology and water-based paint systems in compliance with environmental regulations.

Key responsibilities

  • Using spectrophotometers and mixing systems for colour matching

Qualifications and entry routes

Level 3 qualification in vehicle refinishing. IMI accreditation. Manufacturer-specific paint system training. RPE (respiratory protective equipment) face-fit testing and isocyanate awareness training.
